SAT/ACT Programs

In addition to our after school program, Young Ivy Academy will offer preparatory programs for the SAT English, Writing, and Math. The SAT program begins on 2/11 and a PDF of the curriculum and schedule can be found here.

We offer the best academic enrichment programs in the East Bay area in addition to all kinds of fun activities, and prepare your child for the incoming semester with the following academic workshops:

University of Chicago (B.A., Honors) English Language & Literature
Laura Maxwell UC Berkeley English Laura Maxwell is a graduate of U. C. Berkeley with a B. A. in English and Spanish. She also received her teaching credentials there for K-12 English with an authorization in Spanish. For many years she taught English, Spanish, and ESL for the Pleasanton Unified School District. She has tutored in all subjects at the elementary and middle school levels, including French.

Math Workshop Weiqi Hu Reed College English Weiqi Hu has been teaching mathematics since early high school and she has taught mathematics to a variety of students from age 5 to age 18 in group and individual settings. Her coursework at Reed College, one of the premier undergrad schools for academic mathematics, gives her the background to thoroughly teach not only computational but also conceptual math concepts.

Julian Wittische UC Berkeley (Graduate School) Math & Science Julian has already done private tutoring in Math, French, English and Biology/Geology to 7th and 12th graders. Julian is currently living in Greece to enhance his knowledge and skills in modeling and mathematical ecology by attending small group lectures and training (University of the Aegean).
Stephen Zhang UC San Diego Pharmacological Chemistry Stephen is a TA who will help students in all math subjects.

Welcome to the new, improved, and revamped website of the Young Ivy Academy Before and After School Center. Located in Pleasanton, CA, our center has easy access to a large scale outdoor playground and green healthy environment which is essential for students attending the after school and summer classes. Our center is comprised of:

  • A Computer Lab with the latest Educational Software (Reading, Math, and Learning Chinese).
  • Ten clean and bright classrooms of comfortable sizes.
  • A large collection of supplemental books and read-along CD’s both in English and Chinese.
  • Full of learning tools, intelligent games, and educational DVD’s.
  • Experienced Teachers and Tutors to help students with their homework, monitor students’ daily, weekly, and monthly progress and provide periodic feedback to parents.
  • Fun and explorative art classes!

Our center is split up into many different courses, Fall (before & after school), Spring (before & after school), Summer Camps, PSAT/SAT/ACT, and Private Tutoring. Information about the three courses can be found on their respective pages. The events page of the website is mainly for the summer session, as it serves to be a list of all of the upcoming events (field trips and other associated activities) so that parents can see where their kids are going and what they’re going to be doing.
